Apply for a marriage license from the Santa Clara County Clerk-Recorder's Office

Give the marriage license to the person who will perform your marriage ceremony
Prior to your marriage ceremony, give the marriage license to the wedding official. After the ceremony, the wedding official and at least one witness sign the license.
Return the signed license to the Clerk-Recorder's Office
Following the ceremony, your completed marriage license should be returned to the Clerk-Recorder's Office within 10 business days.
